MEETING OF THE “GOLDEN PHALANX” GENERATION IN PROBISHTIP

On the occasion of 55 years since enrolling in the Secondary Mining and Geology School in Probishtip, a meeting of the generation 1969-1973-2024 was held last weekend, with a culturally entertaining program and the broadcast of a documentary film, scripted by academic Venko Andonovski, directed and realized by Nikola Kumev.

The “Golden Phalanx”, the generation that from 1969 to today is “One for all, all for one”, was greeted by the mayor of Probishtip, Dragan Anastasov, and they distributed plaques as a sign of gratitude to the residents of Probishtip and the professors, who accepted them as their own children and educated them in a highly specialized high school institution, the cradle of mining and geology, in Yugoslavia, Europe and the world. But in addition to education, they raised them as their own children, to be hardworking, honest, homemakers, family people, something that is not learned from a book, but is knowledge, energy and motivation for a lifetime. The “Golden Phalanx” as a generation, showcased it with personal, professional, business, family life, working life and a significant contribution to Macedonian mining, geology and economy. Now retired, but still with the same youthful vigor and enthusiasm, the celebrants recalled who they were in their high school days, and who they are now, and continue to give and draw energy from each other looking forward to the next meeting, next year.

This unity is an example of how friendship, humanity, and creating a better world for ourselves and others should be preserved. “Let there be such meetings for many years for Macedonians, wherever you are,” said the “Golden Phalanx” in Probishtip.
